Unsolicited raises OK’d

Salary increases totaling $4,300 were adopted Saturday as part of the 2024-2025 Kasson Township budget.

The township supervisor’s position was increased by $700 to the coming fiscal year, which was included in the proposed budget, bringing compensation for the post to $14,450.

No raises were budgeted for the township clerk and treasurer positions, although salary resolutions were adopted in February. This opened the door for those attending the annual meeting to increase — but not decrease — the salaries for these posts.
