Randall Henry Sedlacek, 54, of Northport, Michigan, passed away on February 23, 2024, at Medi Lodge of Leelanau in Suttons Bay. He was born on April 3, 1969, in Northport, Michigan, to Robert and Jean (Schaub) Sedlacek. Randy was a man of remarkable intelligence and perseverance. He graduated as co-salutatorian from Leland High School in 1987 and pursued higher education at Northwestern Michigan College on a presidential scholarship. Randy’s passion for mechanics led him to earn an associate degree in small engines, a skill he brought back home to his roots as a cherry farmer in Northport. He also had an interest in playing bass guitar and took lessons for numerous years.
Despite facing the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis, with which he was diagnosed in 1995, Randy remained resilient and determined. He continued to tend to his family farm, raising cows, maintaining, and mowing the enormous yard every season and caring for his various cats. An avid outdoorsman, Randy found solace in the wilderness, embodying his deep connection to nature through hunting. Over a period of 27 years, he harvested 17 bucks with bow and rifle, a testament to his skill and dedication to the sport. Randy is survived by his siblings, Ronald Sedlacek and Pamela (Dwight) Kilgore; his aunt, Rosemary Moe Kalchik, and numerous cousins.
