‘Poor judgment’

To the editor:

As an individual, Sheriff Mike Borkovich is welcome to privately support the candidate of his choice. What is unwelcome is that he chose to be photographed in the Leelanau County Sheriff’s uniform publicly showing support for candidate Trump. This seems to be a violation of the Hatch Act prohibiting local law enforcement from endorsing particular candidates and shows poor judgment.
