To the editor:
In 1945, as World War II ended, the economy shifted from war time to peace time while returning GIs looked for jobs. Inflation skyrocketed. Thanks to Truman’s leadership, within a few years inflation dropped and the great post-war boom began. In 2021, as the pandemic eased, the economy shifted from pandemic footing to normalcy while people looked for jobs. Inflation skyrocketed. Thanks to Biden’s leadership, inflation is dropping. Are we ready for another boom? The recent economic indicators - here’s one: 15 million new jobs - are certainly positive. Food for thought when we cast our votes this November.
