‘Protecting borders not political’

To the editor:

Protecting our borders is an American issue, not political. I’m grateful for Sheriff Borkovich’s attendance at the Grand Rapids rally. He was invited to President Trump’s round table discussion in an official capacity as head of law enforcement for Leelanau County. He chose to represent us and share his experiences of what works and what doesn’t, as it relates to potential immigration crime. As Sheriff Borkovich stated in the Enterprise, he “went down there for border security issues.” He’s addressing this issue by keeping up to date on how to best protect our border, and effectively deal with immigrant crime.
