Comets off to hot start

Leland girls soccer (3-0, 2-0 Northwest) kicked off the season with three straight wins in the past week over Suttons Bay, Manistee, and Glen Lake to start the season undefeated. On Monday, Leland defeated Glen Lake 5-0 in dominant fashion.

Leland girls soccer (3-0, 2-0 Northwest) kicked off the season with three straight wins in the past week over Suttons Bay, Manistee, and Glen Lake to start the season undefeated.

On Monday, Leland defeated Glen Lake 5-0 in dominant fashion.

Addi Waskiewicz started the scoring off with a direct kick before sophomore Emerie burda got on the score card with a penalty kick to go into halftime up 2-0.

In the second half, Olive Ryder nailed a 30-yard rocket that was assisted by Hadley Bison. With the score 3-0, Leland sophomore Willa Murray got rolling and scored twice with assists from Waskiewicz and senior Mallory Lowe.

Leland played TC Bulldogs on yesterday as of press time.

The Lakers travel to Buckley on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday, Leland defeated Suttons Bay in a close 2-1 game.

Lowe scored on an assist from Wakiewicz and Murray scored unassisted. Leland junior Elli Miller had two saves.

Suttons Bay freshman Megan Lint scored the first goal of the season for the Norse on a penalty kick.

SB mercies Benzie

Suttons Bay bounced back with vengeance against Benzie Central on Monday in an 8-0 route.
