To the editor:
In April, we celebrate the Month of the Young Child. Along with the other 11 months, parents, grandparents and other caregivers are on 24/7 providing care for their little ones. Caregiving is a rewarding, but often challenging responsibility. Sometimes a day with an active young child can feel like a month! ParentGuideNews.com cleverly spells out a child’s need from the acronym PARENTS: Protection, Acceptance, Recognition, Enforced limits, Nearness, Time and Support. When you see a young child during this celebratory month, stop, smile and say hello! Offer a helping hand to the young parents in our community, too. A strong community supports one another.
