Make America Great Again. Really?

To the editor: In her new book “Attack From Within,” University of Michigan law professor Barbara McQuaid writes: “Make America Great Again implies a wish to return to what some may consider the good old days, when white men were dominant, women were subservient, and people of color were pushed to the lower rungs of society.” No thanks. President Biden closed his recent State of the Union Address with this: “The issue facing our nation is not how old we are, it’s how old are our ideas.

President Biden closed his recent State of the Union Address with this: “The issue facing our nation is not how old we are, it’s how old are our ideas. Hate, anger, revenge, retribution are the oldest of ideas. But you can’t lead America with ancient ideas. It will only take us back. You need America, the land of possibilities. You need a vision for the future and what can and should be done.” Yes, please.
