Protecting our water

To the editor: Concerning the on sale/transfer of property septic inspections: we now have over one year of data on systems needing repair or replacement: 16% of those inspected required some improvement. My comments as the commissioners vote to move forward on the ordinance were that this current ordinance does not go far enough in protecting our lakes and streams.

My comments as the commissioners vote to move forward on the ordinance were that this current ordinance does not go far enough in protecting our lakes and streams. Do we now see a path forward, expanding our inspections? Perhaps inspecting old systems that have no existing records would be the next step, particularly those near lakes and streams. Protecting our clean water is everyone’s concern.
