Families can expect plenty of fish and even bigger smiles at the annual Scott Brow Fishing Derby held at the Northport Mill Pond on Third Street from dawn until 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Northport sportsman Club sponsors the annual youth fishing derby each spring, according to coordinator and local Ryan Blessing.
“Do it for the kids. It’s just a great way to get kids into fishing and the outdoor experience,” Blessing said. “It’s a great socialization event for families to meet.”
Blessing participated as a kid and then when he moved back to Northport in 2015 he started helping with the Northport Sportsman Club.
