Suttons Bay splits with Buckley

The Norsemen continued its fast start in the Northwest Conference as Suttons Bay (5-8 overall, 5-1 NWC) split a pair with the Buckley Bears on Monday. Buckley took the first game 2-1.

The Norsemen continued its fast start in the Northwest Conference as Suttons Bay (5-8 overall, 5-1 NWC) split a pair with the Buckley Bears on Monday.

Buckley took the first game 2-1. The game was tied 1-1 at the top of the sixth inning when the Bears knocked in the winning run.

Suttons Bay senior Lucas Gordon led from the mound with 13 strikeouts, allowing two hits. Joe Howard went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In game two, Suttons Bay fell behind early, but turned it around in a 13-5 win.

The Bears jumped out to a quick start that was immediately cooled by the Norsemen.

Zacharia Raphael earned the win from the mound while Jackson Loucks, Lucas Gordon, and Gavin Schicthel led from the batter-box.

Suttons Bay travels to Kingsley Thursday and TC Christian Friday with both games starting at 4:15 p.m.
