Glen Lake tied Buckley 3-3 Monday in an entertaining game on the pitch.

Lake striker Abbi Steffke led with two goals and an assist, while Ava Raymond chipped in a goal herself. Glen Lake senior Autumn Staley had one assist, and Andi Forton stood tall in net with 10 saves.

This was a game that had everything, Glen Lake went down 1-0 right away, but quickly countered with a goal from Steffke assisted by Staley to go into the break tied 1-1.

Glen Lake came out hard in the second half thanks to another goal from Steffke. The third goal was scored by Raymond on a great breakaway to put the Lakers up 3-1. Buckley scored with six minutes left before tying the game with less than a minute left.

“Forton played incredible for her first time as keeper, guess it runs on the family. Great game, a lot of growth,” Glen Lake soccer coach Eric Luthardt said.

Leland (12-1-1, 6-0 NWC) traveled to Charlevoix last Thursday and defeated the Rayders 4-1.

The game was close at halftime, tied 1-1, but the Comets pull away in the second 40 minutes.

Leland goal scorers included Hadley Bison with a hat-trick, and Addi Waskiewicz finding the net herself.

Last Wednesday, Suttons Bay defeated Benzie Central 9-1.
