Glen Lake junior Michael Houtteman has been unstoppable on the links as he shot a 4-under 68 to win a Northwest Conference meet at Chiampion Hill Course on Monday. The performance helped Glen Lake tie Leland 188-188 in the team competition. Frankfort, Onekama, Benzie Central, and Kingsley followed.
Houtteman’s six birdies on the day helped fend off Leland from taking the victory.
Leland’s Howie Kropp (42, 4th), Colby Connor (47, 7th), and Hayden VanSteenhouse (49, 8th) played impressive rounds. Glen Lake senior Jacob Switzer tied with VanSteenhouse.
Houtteman won a NWC 9-hole event last week with a 31, which led Glen Lake to winning the event that was hosted by Kingsley.
