A pair of hat-tricks led Suttons Bay over Glen Lake last Wednesday in a 8-0 win.
Suttons Bay strikers Megan U’Ren and Lauren Lint couldn’t miss the net as they combined for six goals in the win.
U’Ren also contributed two assists, while Megan Lint notched a goal and two assists. Keeley TwoCrow scored one goal, with Adrienne Schaub and Madelyn Hamilton adding an assist each.
TwoCrow and Mackenzie Schaub secured the shutout in net.
Glen Lake’s Andi Forton made seven saves. The Lakers played with nine players against the solid Suttons Bay squad. Glen Lake kept the chances down, but constant Norse pressure led to mistakes by Glen Lake and easy goals by Suttons Bay.
Glen Lake battled Kingsley to a tough 5-3 loss on Monday.
The first half was stellar from the Lakers on senior night. After Kingsley tied, Peace Hawley-Joppich scored right before half.
The second half was a track meet as Kingsley took the lead. Glen Lake senior Ava Raymond scored the Lakers best team goal of the year. Glen Lake’s Raymond, Paige Steffke, Autumn Staley and Kady Brown-Novak were honored during the senior night.
TC St. Francis clinched a 1-0 victory in a closely contested match against Leland last Wednesday. The lone goal came from St. Francis forward Riley Collins, assisted by Reese Muma. Paisleigh Upshaw made an impressive 14 saves on the day.
Leland (13-2-2 overall, 7-0 NWC) rebounded quickly with a pair of wins over Kingsley and Buckley.
The Comets came out with vengeance against Kingsley with a five goal outburst in the first half.
Leland was led by seven different goal scorers including senior Mallory Lowe (2), Cameron Flees, Willa Murray, Addi Waskiewicz, Emerie Burda, Lilly Connor, and Ariah Amin. Assists were distributed by Hadley Bison and Waskiewicz.
Leland junior Ellie Miller earned the shutout in net.
The Comets started another winning streak with a 4-0 victory over Buckley.
After starting slow, Leland turned on the jets and scored three goals in the second half.
Lilly Connor couldn’t be stopped as she managed a hattrick in the win. Flees also scored. Miller added an assist from the goalkeeper position. Kally Sluiter also found her teammate for an assist.
