The following telegram was received by Local Board No. l, Leelanau County, this morning: “Notify 10 registrants to report for pre-induction examination at Kalamazoo December 23. Leave Suttons Bay December 22. Official call will be in your hands December 19.”
The following registrants, who have had their preliminary physical examinations by local physicians, are scheduled to go:
• John Geroy, Suttons Bay
• Peter VerSnyder, Lake Leelanau
• Clemence Waclawski, Cedar
• William Clark, Jr., R. 3, Traverse City
• Charles Riss and Vern Mateer, Maple City
• Carl Raphael and Frank Korson, Omena
• Clifford Paul and Robert Mann, Northport They undoubtedly will go from Suttons Bay on December 22 by chartered bus, and will return home on December 24.
John Aleck Fleese, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Fleese of Cedar, enlisted in the Army last week.
Several more Leelanau County registrants will probably be called on December 31. Many other Class 1-A registrants will be called for preliminary examination within the next 30 days.
