To the editor:
Area Veterans were recipients of the wonderful generosity of the Leland charter boat fleet this past Wednesday. I was on-board a boat with a very able Captain who worked hard to assure that all of us had a great time on the water. I caught fish with a long-time friend, and made new friends on the trip. To top it off we were treated to a fish fry at Hancock Field by some great cooks and assistants. Carlson’s cleaned our catch and had it bagged for anyone who wanted some to take home.
For those of us who still carry the wounds of war it was an opportunity to focus on the beauty of our area and recognize that there are men and women who take the time to honor our service. Thank you!
