The Leelanau Senior Expo at Suttons Bay High School school brought together hundreds of seniors to connect with the community and business vendors – along with plenty of political debate that led to parties being asked to leave the event.
“The Expo was held today and took the time to walk around,” Interim county administrator Richard Lewis said during the county Board of Commissioners monthly meeting Tuesday evening. “There was a hiccup as the superintendent asked representatives of the Democratic and Republican Parties to exit the event.”
Everyone did comply to the request, according to Leelanau County Undersheriff James Kiessel and Lt. Duane Wright.
