1932 ~ 2024
Mary Angeline(Hansen) Moore, 91, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024. Mary was born September 16, 1932 in Muskegon, Michigan to Alfred and Rose(Minkel) Hansen. Mary was a devoted Catholic with unwavering faith. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and Saint Francis Church; where she was a Eucharistic minister. Mary was proud to have earned her Associates Degree from Northwestern Michigan College. She had many jobs throughout her life, including the Coast Guard PX, Peninsula Asphalt and Kellogg Wholesale. She also worked weekends at the Tanz Haus as a bartender from 1972 until it closed in 1987. A woman of many talents, Mary was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Chorus and award winning barbershop quartets. Mary loved all sports whether professional or college. Her favorite professional team was the Detroit Red Wings and she had a large collection of memorabilia. Her very favorite sporting events were whatever her 6 grandchildren were playing in any given season. She attended countless games locally and on the road. Mary was very proud of her grandchildren’s many accomplishments in life. Mary’s life is a testament to her strong spirit, dedication and zest for life. She will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Mary is survived by her daughters Mary (Patrick) Kiella and Melissa “Missy” (David) Hubbell, her grandchildren Travis (Emily) Hubbell, Nicholas (Melody) Kiella, Robin (Robert) Rittenour, Layne (Zach) Wood, Dustin Hubbell and Lauren (Erik) Scanlon and her great grandchildren Finley Kiella, Noah Rittenour, Jude Rittenour, Sloan Wood, Leo Hubbell, Charlie Kiella, Simon Scanlon, Liza Wood, Violet Hubbell and Margot Scanlon and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her siblings Russell, Jean, Kathleen, Alan, Laura and Robert. Mary’s daughters would like to especially thank Miranda Leiffers and her family for loving and caring for her for 3 and a half years. We are also thankful for the care she received from Robanne and Ashley at French Manor Yorkshire during the last month of her life. Mass will be held in Mary’s honor at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am on June 24, 2024. Father Don Geyman will officiate. Burial will take place at Solon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be directed to Saint Francis Catholic Church, Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools or the Humane Society.
