To the editor:
A letter in the June 19 Enterprise erroneously claims that the DOJ authorized the use of lethal force against Trump. Here’s what actually happened: the search warrant for Mar-a-Lago contained boilerplate language that’s put in every warrant to remind agents of the FBI’s policy regarding limitations on the use of lethal force.
In any event, the FBI coordinated with the Secret Service to ensure that the search was conducted with no show of force and no unnecessary drama. So no, the FBI was not authorized to assassinate Trump.
I wish letter writers would fact check themselves before spreading pernicious nonsense.
