Leelanau County’s road commissioners have scheduled a tour of county roads on July 16. The tour will give the road commissioners a chance to review recently completed projects and identify sites that may need future work.
The road tour, scheduled by the commission during its June 18 meeting, conflicts with the board’s regular meeting schedule, as they meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays between April and mid-November. The road commissioners decided to cancel the July 16 meeting but will still meet July 2.
Also at the June 18 meeting, road commission Engineer Craig Brown reported that work on Gallivan Road near Solon Township is progressing well. As of mid-month, all six culverts due for replacement were installed and pavement had started. The road reopened Tuesday.
