Naomi Laouchourn, River Restoration Project Manager for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians (GTB), is pictured speaking at New Community Vision’s (NCV) open house event on June 24. The local nonprofit formed to purchase and preserve the former Timber Shores campground in Leelanau Township and has been fundraising since last year. The group has also established a strategic partnership with the GTB and will pursue a collaborative application for a significant federal grant with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
