Historian to speak on Leelanau’s ties to the Revolution, July 19

The Leelanau Historical Society and Leland Township Library will host a lecture Friday, July 19 on Leelanau County and its connection to the American Revolution and the struggle for freedom and equality in early America.

The Leelanau Historical Society and Leland Township Library will host a lecture Friday, July 19 on Leelanau County and its connection to the American Revolution and the struggle for freedom and equality in early America.

Anna-Lisa Cox, Ph.D.. author of “A Free and Independent State,” will speak at 6:30 p.m. at the Old Art Building.

She is an award-winning American historian who specializes in the history of racism in the19th century, with a focus on the North.
