Dirty v. clean

To the editor: Some of our county commissioners are enamored with green energy projects, but are apparently unaware of the costs, environmental impacts, and reliability issues. Mother Earth News reports in their article “Dirty Drawbacks of Clean Energy” from June/July 2024, lithium mining is intensely damaging to the environment.

Some of our county commissioners are enamored with green energy projects, but are apparently unaware of the costs, environmental impacts, and reliability issues. Mother Earth News reports in their article “Dirty Drawbacks of Clean Energy” from June/July 2024, lithium mining is intensely damaging to the environment. Moreover, 79% of lithium deposits in America are on or near indigenous peoples’ lands. Democrats are falling in line with their federal overlords despite the fact that a Mackinac. org study gives Michigan an “F/D” for solar and wind energy, and a “A” for natural gas resources.
