LAKE LEELANAU – Annette Christine Popp, 83, of Lake Leelanau, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 at home with her family at her side. Annette was born October 6, 1940 in Detroit the daughter of Clifford and Fern (Schuster) LeRoux.

LAKE LEELANAU – Annette Christine Popp, 83, of Lake Leelanau, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 at home with her family at her side.

Annette was born October 6, 1940 in Detroit the daughter of Clifford and Fern (Schuster) LeRoux. On April 28, 1962 at St. Mary’s Church of Lake Leelanau she married Edward Dale Popp who preceded her in death on September 12, 2014.

Annette was patient, positive and hard work personified. She was happy and had a permanent smile on her face. Annette raised her children and fed her family from her own garden. She canned everything from meats, veggies, fruits, and was a fantastic cook and could make a dollar stretch to provide for her family.

She was in the stands at her kids’ sporting events, enjoyed a good game of pinocle and played it every weekend with family. Annette also enjoyed the Marty Stewart Show, board games and WWE professional wrestling.

Annette is survived by her five children, Dale (Nancy Firestone) Popp, Rose Popp, Alan Popp, David (Lori) Popp, Craig (Tanya) Popp; a sister, Leona Spedoski, her grandchildren, Christine ( Jason) Harnick, Erin (Robert) Blake, Megan (Ross) Bradley, Ryan Popp, Shannon Popp, Mikki Popp, Dena Popp, Dakota (Arnoldo Armendariz) Popp, Raymond (Alyssa Bauman) Popp, Jerimiah “JJ” Popp, Ruby Popp; her great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Landon, Ashlyn, Raelynn, Deondre, Realynn, Ellianna and Isabella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Lorraine Sharnowski, a brother, Daniel LeRoux, a daughter-in-law, Kristine Popp, and a grandson, Matthew Popp. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 1st from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM at the Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay.

The mass will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church with the family greeting friends one hour prior. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Father Ben Martin will serve as celebrant.
