To the editor:
Despite the rainy morning, we had 630 runners in the 17th annual Running Bear Run — 545 in the 5K and 85 in the children’s run. Thanks to the Glen Lake community for its support of the run with special thanks to our major sponsors: Cherry Republic, Cottonseed, Crystal River Outfitters Recreational District, Fleet Feet, Glen Arbor Bed & Breakfast, The Homestead, LVR Realty, McCardel Culligan, Northwood Hardware Home and Garden, Sleeping Bear Inn, Sleeping Bear Visitors Bureau and 32 merchants who contributed prizes for the raffle. 90% of the proceeds go to college scholarships and 10% for community projects. A huge thank you to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Cherry Republic for opening their doors in the bad weather.
