Not much happening right now folks, the Empire Lions Club Anchor Day Chicken Dinner was the normal huge success although it was moved from the Townhall to Johnson Park. Some people were confused and some people didn’t know where Johnson Park was, which is hard to believe nonetheless the lions sold a lot of chicken and dinners and there were are a lot of very happy people eating enjoying the dinner.
Apparently there was an Anchor Day parade. I didn’t know about it and a lot of people that I spoke with at the chicken dinner were unaware of the Anchor Day Parade. Too bad, the only reason I knew that there was one is because somebody asked me if there was a lot of military in the parade and I couldn’t answer, so sorry.
The 23rd was the annual Running Bear Race. I hope it was well attended and people had a great time looking forward to the Empire Lions Club’s annual auction which will be held on Sunday, August 11, and this too will be held at Johnson Park Always fun, always good deals, don’t get left behind.
