Carol Ann Bendig (nee Leneberg), a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away on July 22, 2024, in Piedmont, South Carolina. Born on April 7, 1939, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Carol’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and her dedication to her family and community.
Carol’s journey began as the cherished daughter of the late Henry Leneberg and Donna Vowinkel (nee Carlson-Leneberg). She grew up alongside her brothers, Russel Vowinkel and the late Charles Vowinkel. Carol’s educational pursuits led her to earn a bachelor’s degree, which paved the way for her meaningful career as a home economics teacher and substitute teacher. Her passion for education extended beyond the classroom as she taught English as a second language to military wives, enriching many lives with her knowledge and kindness.
