Where has civility gone?

While seating with my 8 yeqr old granddaughter on on the patio of our home on Lake Leelanau, she wondered what the flag attached to a bright yellow speed boat said. The boat was motoring from the south end of the lake due north and the flag read “F... Biden”.

During this election year, I totally support the expression of free speech and the privilege of having the freedom to vote for the candidates of choice. In our great country, there are so many ways of expressing our First Amendment rights without being offensive and/or insensitive to others, especially to young children. I hope we can find better ways of embracing this “societal gift” in a manner that is respectful to all.
