This Saturday is the Annual Northport Dog Parade. It is a not-to-be-missed event, with about 100 dogs, and their humans, many dressed in the theme of the day. This year the event is “Barkum and Bailey’s Flea Ring Circus – the Greatest Show on Arf.” You can pre-register at Dog Ears Books or Pennington Collection in Northport, or on-line at the northportomenachamber.org.
You can also register the day of the parade at the Mill Pond. Participants should be at the Mill Pond no later than 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The parade starts at noon.
Deputy Vice Mayor Porsche McKee, although of the feline purr-suasion, will be an honored guest at the parade. Former Mayor Rosie Disch and newly elected members of the Omena Village Council invite all Omena canines to join them.
