Baloney

To the editor:

Trump claims Kamala Harris is a “border czar,” and that problems at the border are therefore her fault. Baloney. Harris was tasked with addressing the long term “root causes” of illegal immigration; she never had responsibility for day to day border security. If Trump is looking for a culprit, he should look in a mirror. He rejected the bipartisan deal that would have increased ICE detention capacity, toughened asylum requirements, provided for the hiring of hundreds more Border Patrol agents, etc. He opposed the bill because he wanted the issue left unaddressed, so he could campaign on it. Disgusting.
