This month is the National Park Service’s (NPS) 108th Birthday! The NPS was established This on August 25, 1916, with President Woodrow Wilson signing what is now called the Organic Act to “preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.”
The Empire Area Community Center Has two coming events, Friday and Saturday August 23 & 24 . “The Art of Karen Jacob “The exhibit will be open from Friday morning through Saturday evening at the township hall.
The next event, Anne-Marie Oomen will be presented the “Michigan Author Lifetime Achievement Award” on September 7. Neighbors and friends will celebrate her with a party at the Empire Township Hall on September 8th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. There will be live music and Literary Readings.
