Letter … nasty

To the editor: I laughed out loud when I read the letter in last week’s Leelanau Enterprise suggesting people who support the LGBTQ+, transgender, and other “human beings” who are on a different path than are others in this world, do not having “critical thinking skills”, otherwise they would realize that by supporting these “God given” pathways for these individual lives, they are somehow weakening humanity. This letter dripped of ignorance, meanness, nastiness and just plain stupidity.

I laughed out loud when I read the letter in last week’s Leelanau Enterprise suggesting people who support the LGBTQ+, transgender, and other “human beings” who are on a different path than are others in this world, do not having “critical thinking skills”, otherwise they would realize that by supporting these “God given” pathways for these individual lives, they are somehow weakening humanity.

This letter dripped of ignorance, meanness, nastiness and just plain stupidity. It was obviously written by a non-religious person, because all the truly religious people I am aware of would never think and feel this way. Take a look around your Thanksgiving dinner table this year, and “scientific research” guarantees you will see someone who has some of these life characteristics that you hate so much. You are probably one of the reasons they are afraid to freely live the life God gave them. My religious friends care about all human beings, not just the ones that make them feel comfortable. I strongly agree that there is a lack of critical thinking skills for a certain population in this country, particularly a lack by one of our presidential candidates. That’s why we have someone running for president that I wouldn’t want to date my sister, let alone run this country.
