In addition to the new Principal Shelagh Fehrenbach, there will plenty of faces — new and old — greeting students at Leland Public School next week.

Longtime science teacher Jeremy Peplinski has been appointed assistant principal. Peplinski has more than 25 years experience teaching high school science, primarily at Leland.

Born and raised in the county, Peplinski graduated from Suttons Bay High School in 1993 and went on to earn an undergraduate degree in chemistry and biology at Central Michigan University. He also earned a master’s degree in school administration at CMU.
