To the editor:
The TART group, which is not even based in Leelanau County, is out of control with its overreaching attempt to add another segment to the Sleeping Bear National Park bike trail.
The proposed amount of money spent is irresponsible for the amount of use the trail gets during the year. Our beautiful Cleveland township is one of the last areas between Glen Arbor and Leland that has not been overly impacted by the clearing of trees within the National Park Property. The further impact on this area’s portion of the Sleeping Bear National Park environment is not worth the risk.
Cutting down trees and meadows and replacing them with an asphalt trail is unfathomable and must be stopped.
I implore everyone who loves Sleeping Bear National Park to use their power to help stop this effort.
Take care, David Rozanski Maple City
