MAPLE CITY- James Lee Routzahn, 45, of Maple City, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, unexpectedly and peacefully at his home.

James was born November 14, 1978, in Northport and is the son of David Routzahn and Debra Van Zee. James also graduated from Suttons Bay High School with the Class of 1998. He was a Master Finish Carpenter and was self employed.

James was a stand-up guy, impeccable integrity; he was a drop everything kind of guy to help a friend in need. He and his fur baby, his dog Keno, were inseparable. They would take daily walks with Pyramid Point being one of their favorites. They spent 13 beautiful years together and it hurt Jamie deeply when Keno passed on and he mourned the loss of the friendship deeply. So deeply he started to dip into a deep depression.

James like to dote on his mother, Debbie; and helped his sister Shannon with her two nephew sons, DJ and Brayden. James put a good chunk towards DJ’s college, and let him stay at his home, across from NMC, to save money. James liked to take DJ ice fishing, and in better days supplied the boys with lavish gifts at Christmas.

James loved politics from morning til night and believed in Making American Great Again! James died before he was able to cast his vote. James always told the truth and was never misleading. He wanted to see the War’s End and children of all races safe.

James would want everyone to vote, and choose the candidate that will bring peace to the world. James Loved God and In God We Trust! United we will stand and divided we will fall! And God Bless America the home of the land of the Free and Brave! AMEN. Jamie is survived by his parents, David (Marcia) Routzahn and Debra Van Zee; two siblings, Shelly (Justin) Roush, Shannon Routzahn; and two nephews, (DJ) Donald John Petroskey II and Brayden J. Swift. James also considered LeeAnne Flaska his little sister (Cory Flaska) their daughter Aliza and son Jordon, as part of his family. LeeAnne spent a lot of time with the Routzahn family at their family daycare and as long time family friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Milton and Clara Belle Routzahn, his maternal grandparents, Richard Van Zee and Betty Irish. and his four legged best friend, Keno.

Cremation has taken place and private family services have been held. James unexpected death has made needs for a GoFundMe page that will cover the cremation costs and other loose ends.
