Leland (0-1) boys basketball started the game on a 17-7 run, before the Eagles (1-0) found their groove and took the lead 21-17 by halftime.
The Eagles would hold the Comets to only 16 more points in the second half as Lake Leelanau St. Mary won 43-33.
The Eagles were led by sophomore Oliver Mitchell with 18 points, and senior Jerry Schaub with 10 points courtesy of three 3-pointers.
