Eagles bounce Comets for first win of season

Leland (0-1) boys basketball started the game on a 17-7 run, before the Eagles (1-0) found their groove and took the lead 21-17 by halftime. The Eagles would hold the Comets to only 16 more points in the second half as Lake Leelanau St.

The Eagles would hold the Comets to only 16 more points in the second half as Lake Leelanau St. Mary won 43-33.

The Eagles were led by sophomore Oliver Mitchell with 18 points, and senior Jerry Schaub with 10 points courtesy of three 3-pointers.

Eli Kelenske added another four points, and six other players scored for the Eagles.

The Comets were led by Eli Ulbricht and Ryan Grinage who scored six points apiece. Leland seniors Logan DeFour, Sawyer Couturier, and sophomore Trey Roman combined for another 13 points while four other players managed to get on the scorecard.

Norsemen slam TCBAA

Suttons Bay basketball (1-0) showed their excitement for the basketball season after the Norsemen dominated the Bulldogs 76-31.

The Norsemen were led by Grayson Opie who scored 17 points in the win along with a fanatic slam dunk in the first half. Suttons Bay guards Tyler Porter (14), Lucas Gordon (11), and Darius Lopez (11) also dominated the court.

Suttons Bay hosts Grand Traverse Academy, yesterday after press time, before battling Leland at home on Friday at 7 p.m.

Glen Lake falls to Rayders Glen Lake (1-1) fell for the first time this season against Charlevoix 52-45 on Friday.

Lake Leelanau St. Mary and Glen Lake played Wednesday as of press time.
