Suttons Bay traveled to Pellston for a Saturday football game against the Hornets.

The Norsemen improved to 4-1 on the season with a decisive 42-16 victory.

“The boys played well and really focused on good fundamentals and getting better as a team,” Suttons Bay coach Garrick Opie said.

The Norsemens offensive line were opening up holes for Sutton Bay running wild into the endzone for most of the day. The running game opened up the passing game for senior quarterback Grayson Opie.

On the defensive side, it was a team effort to shutdown the pesky Hornets to only 16 points.

The Norsemen turn around and face Marion Friday at 7 p.m. Marion was a state finalist last year and is coming into the game undefeated (5-0) after defeating Carson City-Crystal 56-6.

“It’s going to be a tough team, last year they were a state finalist and usually when you have a state finalist team there’s a couple residual years that have strong kids. They have a lot of experience,” Opie said.

Suttons Bay will be celebrating 50 years of coaching for Stan Pasch.
