As the regular season wraps up, Glen Lake, Suttons Bay, and Leland are gearing up for the district soccer tournament, with all three teams looking to make deep runs in postseason play.

Should Suttons Bay win its first-round match, they will travel to Leland on Friday for a quarterfinal game.

Glen Lake’s next opponent and game time depends on the outcome of their match yesterday, as of press time.

Leland enters the tournament as the top-ranked team in MHSAA Division 4 soccer. The Comets have been dominant, clinching another Northwest Conference title last month and easily navigating their conference schedule.

Suttons Bay also played in the first round of districts under the lights yesterday. The Norsemen capped off its regular season with a 4-1 win over Benzie on senior night.

Suttons Bay honored seniors Dayton Petoskey, Niko Franko, Graham Martin, and Conner Sahs at their final regular season home game Monday.

Leland defeated Glen Lake 6-0 Monday night during the last game of the Comets and Lakers season. Leland senior Colby Connor led the Comets with two goals, while Nano Creamer added a goal and two assists. Other comet scorers included Trey Roman, Max Waldrup, and Brian Mosqueda, with Jael Gutierrez and Eli Ulbrich each contributing an assist. Goalkeeper Ravello Smith recorded the shutout with two saves.

Glen Lake (9-9, 5-3 NWC) went above .500 last week with a 4-2 victory over Benzie Central Thursday. Tied 1-1 at halftime, the Lakers surged in the second half to secure the win.

Glen Lake Stats: Austin Switzer 2 goals; Sawyer Homa 1 goal, 2 assists; Ollie O’Neal 1 goal, 1 assist; Anthony Forton 5 saves and numerous defensive stops to anchor the defense
