Leland girls golf concluded their season Monday, Oct. 7 at Huron Breeze Golf Course in Au Gres during a regional tournament.
Leland went into the tournament ranked ninth place and ended the tournament in fifth place.
Leland golfers Ariah Amin, Alyssa Korson and Hannah Hamlin all shot career rounds. Korson and Hamlin shot their best during their last match of competition.
Out of the 75 golfers, all five Leland girls finished in the top-40 with three girls finishing in the top-20.
Korson, Amin and Elyse all barely missed the opportunity to play at state finals.
“While I am sad this chapter has concluded for the seniors, I am very excited to see the next chapters to come for all of them. We are graduating five amazing seniors (Alyssa, Ella, Elyse Emerie and Hannah). Their leadership and commitment to the team has been remarkable. We also truly enjoyed having Yae, our Japanese foreign exchange student. We all admire how she came to a new country, new school and started a new sport!
“We look forward to the returning six girls and are excited to see their growth in golf in the coming years,” Leland coach Grace Keeble said. “We had an incredible season that ended in a very positive way.”
