To the editor:

Whether you call it climate change or global warming it impacts us all and it is negatively affecting our planet and our future.

Have you noticed how most of our weather events are so extreme. Hurricanes earlier, more often and often deadlier than we have ever seen before.

This Green New Deal is an effort to at least slow the effect of climate change. Doing little or nothing is not an option.

The worst thing we can do is to ignore this five-alarm emergency. Quit closing your eyes or sticking your head in the sand. If you can’t wrap your head around this, please don’t be a denier or stand in the way of those trying to slow this monster down.

Our children are depending on us to take this seriously starting now. There is not time to ignore our planet’s rapid warming.
