Wait a while

To the editor: An adage goes, “there is nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come.” Well, the idea of full green energy has not yet come and won’t for quite a while. But hey, I’m all for it and when you can offer me an affordable non-Chinese-made sedan with a small and SAFE 10-year battery which will go 600 miles at 75 mph and recharges in 30 minutes for $20 I’ll buy one.

An adage goes, “there is nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come.” Well, the idea of full green energy has not yet come and won’t for quite a while. But hey, I’m all for it and when you can offer me an affordable non-Chinese-made sedan with a small and SAFE 10-year battery which will go 600 miles at 75 mph and recharges in 30 minutes for $20 I’ll buy one.

Until that day there are still insufficient power grids, green power energy sources, technology, and all the other infrastructure necessary to make it work. Reality, like economic laws, cannot be conned and just because you seek an artificial reality doesn’t mean you will find it. There is still nothing on Earth with the energy per volume of a barrel of Texas crude, except perhaps nuclear power. The climate crowd also forgets that the expensive metals for a battery today require digging up 25 tons of the Earth’s crust in some of the poorest places on Earth with tremendous damage to the environment and inhabitants. For ONE BATTERY. So in the meantime I’ll just stick with my trusty 2002 VW diesel covered in Trump stickers that gets 52 mpg and wait for that happy day when I can fuel my hydrogenpowered vehicle with water out of Suttons Bay. Liberals have yet to learn that capital always follows the best return on investment, and the best return now isn’t EV’s. They might also start thinking things through a bit better.
