Board dysfunction

To the editor:

I am appalled to read about a costly FOIA request from Commissioner Lautner to obtain information that Commissioner Ross refuses to share. First of all, why does an elected county commissioner even need to request a FOIA to obtain official information required to perform her oversight duties? The real issue is dysfunction on the board of commissioners. The democrat majority continues to work in isolation from the republican minority-private meetings, refusal to share information… Sounds like Congress, huh?! This is an election year and let’s replace the partisan democrats with republicans who will work for Leelanau County citizens and reign in out-of-control spending of our tax dollars.
