Norse beat TC Bulldogs; Eagles fall to Onekama

Suttons Bay volleyball defeated T-C Bulldogs in four sets last week 21-25, 25-6, 25-22, 25-23.

Suttons Bay junior Megan U’Ren led with 14 kills and 15 digs. Sophomore Ava Anderson contributed nine kills offensively, and senior captain Bekka Grant had 15 digs. Yasmin Alfonseca also had nine digs, along with Leah Clarke’s seven digs and 16 assists.

Olivia Schmidt couldn’t miss serving as she cooked up five aces in the win.

Leland defeated T-C Christian 25-23, 25-19, 16-25, 25-21 last week.

Leland senior Abby Hicks led with seven kills, eight aces, 13 assists and 12 digs.

Other stats include Abby Martini 7 kills, 5 digs; Abrey Rousseau 10 digs; Callie Fort 7 kills; Kally Sluiter 5 kills, 9 digs; Lia Kiessel 6 digs; Molly Rosseau 9 assists, 6 digs; Sophya Sluiter 5 digs.

Onekama defeated St. Mary Thursday 25-8, 25-11, 25-18.

Kyla Barnowski recorded 5 kills, 9 digs; Cathryn Mikowski 2 kills, 10 digs, 2 aces; Lydia Bramer 4 digs, 1 kill, 11 assists, 1 block; Maggie Ursu 2 kills, 5 digs; Mackenzie Schaub 1 kill, 3 digs; Bridget Kohler 1 dig, 2 blocks.

Both teams will be at the Leland Invitational Saturday.

Glen Lake lost to T-C St. Francis in three sets Monday 20-25, 7-25, 8-25.

St. Mary had four girl serve at 100% and a team average of 92%.
