To the editor:

I just read an article from the Wall Street Journal authored by RFKJr., 9/5/24. Headlined “Make America Healthy Again.”

He illuminates the chronic disease crisis (CDC), gripping the USA. Regardless of your thoughts on RFKJr., we all agree that our children deserve to be healthy. Nearly 50 % of children and 60% of adults are living with CDC, such as obesity, diabetes, & heart disease.

To make America healthy again, we should declare a national health emergency addressing the CDC. This could launch a National Wellness campaign, similar to anti-smoking or COVID-19 efforts.

This vision for health is rooted in love, care and an understanding of the systemic issues that drive CDC. Health care costs are skyrocketing while life expectancy lags behind. It’s clear that the current system is not addressing the root causes of these issues.

RFKJr., outlined reforms to address these problems. He recommended new fitness standards, and referenced his uncle, John F. Kennedy who wrote “The physical vigor of our citizens is one of America’s most precious resources.”

Several other reforms include: shift monocrop subsidies (such as corn, wheat and soy) toward healthier food production, including small family farms. Farmers should receive financial rewards for healthier agriculture. Prohibit U.S. Dept of Agriculture nutrition panel members from profiting from food or drug companies.

To fine more strategies to reverse CDC, reading Joel Warsh’s opinion piece in the Epoch Times. “America’s Health Crisis.”

Hint: Go after Big Pharma & Big Food.
