To the editor:
The League of Women Voters of Leelanau County affirms that our electoral process performed as it was designed in this election. The system has built-in redundancy so that any errors can be identified and corrected. The League had observers present throughout the Board of Canvassers meetings. The Board of Canvassers was meticulous in its review of each precinct’s processes and tabulation numbers prior to certifying the results.
The League commends the County Clerk, her staff, and all four canvassers for the mutual respect shown, for their attentiveness to the task, and for completing a most important process in our democracy.
