To th editor:
In conversations I had with my dad about religion and politics, he told me that the two most detrimental “things” negatively effecting humanity are and will continue to be the misguided evolution of party politics and organized religion. Not politics, but party politics, not religion, but organized religion. Religion, at its core, relies on blind faith to be beneficial. Politics, at its core, relies on effective communication and facts to move our society in a positive direction. Both are important for the success of humanity, but they both become ineffective when blended. Our current political environment is showing the failures of these two “things” being blended.
