Omena is all decked out for the holidays

The Village of Omena is bedecked for the holidays! About two dozen hardy people turned out to decorate the Post Office, Omena Historical Museum and the Fire Hall Saturday. It was a slightly chilly and rainy day, but not the worst weather that the annual Deck the Village event has had.

The Village of Omena is bedecked for the holidays! About two dozen hardy people turned out to decorate the Post Office, Omena Historical Museum and the Fire Hall Saturday. It was a slightly chilly and rainy day, but not the worst weather that the annual Deck the Village event has had.

Everyone gathered afterwards in the Omena Historical Society to warm up and enjoy some libations and wonderful appetizers. Many thanks to Sally Viskochil and Lauris Woolford for hosting the gathering.

This coming Saturday, Omena’s northern suburb of Northport holds its annual Tree Lighting. The day is full of special events in Northport, including children’s holiday activities from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Library, the Holiday Arts and Crafts Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at both the Village Arts Building and Willowbrook Mill, and the Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. Many of the stores will have open houses during the day.
