10:32 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Someone found two dogs on Cherry Bend and couldn’t hold onto them because she had to go to work. Dropped them off at Cherry Bend Animal Hospital — female Golden Retriever and female German Short Haired Pointer. Bond have electric fence collars and are chipped but not registered. (Dogs returned home.)
12:40 p.m. — Kasson Township — Semi stuck in the middle of the lane at S. Coleman and W. Bloswick. Southbound lane on the hill. Sander has come through. Semi unable to get enough traction to get up the hill. Blocking off intersection to take an alternate route back onto 616 and will head to Maple City to avoid the hill.
1 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Domestic.
1:10 p.m. — Empire Township — Caller has been contacted by collections regarding a bank and in Ohio stating that she overdrew checking and savings account.
6:08 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Theft by employee. One in custody.
6:13 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township —Truck struggling to make it up Spinnaker Lane. Law enforcement is not needed. Just need to let Road Commission know.
7:14 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Brickyard Towing is requesting assistance with traffic control while he pulls a car out of the ditch. (He was able to get all vehicles out.
8:56 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — White Envoy and maroon Dodge Charger were doing doughnuts in the school parking lot as they were leaving. Almost hit the caller.
Thursday, Dec. 12
10:58 a.m. — Solon Township — Caller slid through the intersection and took out a sign. Vehicle is stuck. Vehicle damaged. Road shut down temporarily. (Vehicle out of the ditch. Road Commission called about sign.)
2:17 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Farmer piling snow up in front of the stop sign. No snow pile blocking the road or obstructing stop sign. This is a small pile on the side of the road by the exit of his barn.
3:03 p.m. — Bingham Township — Vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway. Looked like it was trying to put on snow chains, and another vehicle went into the snow to avoid it. White Ram truck and black Toyota went into the snow to avoid hitting the Ram. Bingham Towing notified that there are multiple vehicles in the ditch now. Going to need another unit. White truck with trailer jackknifed across Co. Rd. 641. Tone out for traffic control. Send them south to 641 south of Donner. It’s pure ice. Another vehicle going off the road. (Road Commission notified. They will send their night shift when they come on duty. Patrol car shut down just north of Donner on 641. (All vehicles out of the ditch. No damage.)
3:42 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Green Dodge truck swerving on and off the road. Hit a mailbox and continued on. Caller advised the truck has a damaged mirror. The male driver did stop in Omena to put a plastic bag over it and he looked out of sorts.
Friday, Dec. 13
8:37 a.m. — Leland Township — Subject tearing up the room. Leland School placed in secure mode.
9:07 a.m. — Leland Township — Above subject taken into protective
custody.
9:47 a.m. — Leland Township — Subject came to Sheriff’s Office to report on ongoing, escalating problems with a neighbor.
10:11 a.m. — Bingham Township — Someone in Santa Barbara, California created a total of eight fraudulent checks. The bank is investigating and is requesting a police report.
Saturday, Dec. 14
2:09 a.m. — Solon Township — Caller would like someone to check on his wife.
11:16 a.m. — Bingham Township — White car in the ditch. Looks like they just slid off. Doesn’t appear to be any damage.
1:07 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller is being threatened to have children taken away. Referred to Friend of the Court for child custody issues.
6:59 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Neighbor dispute over tractor parked in shared driveway. Would like to speak with a deputy about options. (Spoke with caller. Will head to location and try to make contact with parties.)
10:18 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller reports noises from Timberlee for the last couple hours. Was out walking his dog and heard what he believes could be fireworks or gunshots.
11:09 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller is arguing with his wife. Nothing physical per deputy. Just a marital dispute.
11:20 p.m. — Bingham Township — Caller from Wisconsin advises that her son needs help and to send the police right away. (Deputies made contact with the male half.)
Sunday, Dec. 15
2:56 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Disorderly person.
3:06 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Loud music playing for the last few hours. Would like someone to ask to keep it down. (Issues addressed with about eight subjects. They turned the music down.
Monday, Dec. 16
8:04 a.m. — Leland Township — Garbage truck driver hit power pole and lines are down. Power is out at the (sewer) plant and the line are laying on the truck. One person in vehicle. No damage to truck and driver is OK. Standing by for Cherryland. Male knows to stay in the vehicle.
4:29 p.m. — Bingham Township — Single vehicle swerved on ice and hit a utility pole. Power lines are down on caller’s vehicle. Vehicle off the roadway. No injuries. Silver Land Rover. Looks to just be the cable line. Road shut down. (State Police will remain on the scene for utility company.)
5:43 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller’s 11-year-old son was hit while on his bike. He walked his bike to the park and called parent. No injuries 8:37 p.m. — Solon Township — Single vehicle accident. One taken into custody for operating while intoxicated.
