Glen Lake (4-0) gave Harbor Springs (6-1) its first loss of the season with a 71-63 win over the Rams in a non-conference matchup Wednesday.
Laker senior Benji Allen led with 28 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds; Jacob Plamondon; 21 points, 21 rebounds; Toby Bradford 9 points; Max Lamerson 7 points, 3 assists.
Harbor Springs was led by Rider Bartel 32 points; Braeden Flynn 29 points.
The Rams jumped out to a strong start as the Rams took a 16-13 lead after the first quarter that was led by Flynn going 3-3 from the 3-point line for nine points.
Allen and Plamondon led a Laker second quarter explosion to go into halftime up 38-26.
Both teams would make runs in the second half, but Glen Lake proved too much for Harbor Springs.
Panthers revenge:
Frankfort defeat Lakers
In a rivalry match-up that lived up to the hype, Frankfort (5-2) defeated Glen Lake (4-1) 49-42 Friday in a Northwest Conference game. Glen Lake defeated Frankfort 44-42 in a thriller in the MHSAA Div. 4 district championship game.
Glen Lake seemingly controlled three quarters of the game before faltering in the fourth. Glen Lake built as large as an 18-point lead before the Panthers came roaring back.
The Lakers started the first quarter with a 13-12 lead, before going into halftime with a 28-18 lead.
Glen Lake started fast in the second half, but the Panthers finally woke up and played a second half to remember. After being up 36-21, Frankfort crawled back to 36-26, before going on a 12-0 run to end the first half. Eventually, the Panthers found themselves down only a basket with five minutes to go in the game, and ran away with it from there.
The Panthers would finish off the Lakers by hitting deep shots that perfectly found the bottom of the net.
Glen Lake faces Charlevoix at home on Dec. 30.

Frankfort’s Karty Kerby had 25 points . Benji Allen and Max Lamerson had 13 points each, and Plamondon had 16 rebounds.
GL girls fall to Onekama
Glen Lake girls basketball fell to Onekama in a conference game, 70-39. Onekama outscored Glen Lake 28-9 in the first quarter that was not recoverable. “Onekama is a very tough team. Two of our three losses have come to them this year. We are working on figuring things out and trying to improve. Up to this point, we have played a tough schedule, which should help us when we get into games in January,” Glen Lake coach Brad Fosmore said.
The Lakers were led by Avery Flores and Lydia Fosmore with seven points each, followed by senior Jessie Pugh with six points.
