Chris Comeaux won his bid for Solon Township supervisor this past election, beating out long-time supervisor, Jim Lautner, who had served for 16 years. Comeaux had previously served as Cedar Area Fire & Rescue Fire chief for just over three years from 2018 to 2021.
Why did he choose to run for supervisor?
“Because I have the knowledge, management experience, education and experience in government to successfully make good decisions for the township,” Comeaux said. “I would like to see our township run as efficiently as possible.” Comeaux’s track record with the fire department supports that claim. Not only did he manage the process of working with three other townships to make capital equipment improvements through an interlocal agreement, but he started the process for bringing the level of emergency ambulatory medical care from basic to advanced. Now Cedar Area Fire & Rescue has paramedics on staff 24/7.
